Coming off of their incredible in in the Mustang Madness Tournament, Spire Academy is set to play in another top quality showcase on January 12th. Spire will play two games in two days against Southwest Basketball Academy and Pine Ridge Secondary School. After an incredible performance in the Mustang Madness Tournament, where they were completely dominant, Spire will look to do the same thing again.
Spire Academy’s first game is against Southwest Basketball Academy, and from what I have seen, they should be no match for Spire. They do not have the star power or all around talent necessary to stop Lamelo Ball and Spire’s other stars, their first game should not be even close.
On the other hand, Pine Ridge could be one of Spire Academy’s toughest opponents all year, nationally ranked 852 and 6th in the state of South Dakota, they should prsent Spire with a legitimate challenge, although I still expect Spire to win in a close affair, this game will be a very exciting one to watch from the neutral perspective.
Spire will always look to play fast and play hard, but the reason I believe they are so successful is because they can play through a number of players, because Lamelo Ball and Rocket Watts are so willing to move the ball, it creates opportunities for everyone, and it makes them a team that is impossible to stop.
Lamelo and his team mates have been on a tear lately, and its obvious that is not going to change, so as long as they stay focused and play to the best of their abilities, then they should walk out of this showcase with a 2-0 record.
Spire Academy play at 7:30 pm on January 12th and 7:00 pm on January 13th, be ready for them to pick up two more wins.
