Ryan Reynolds’ portrayal of the Merc With A Mouth is one of the most beloved superhero movie characters that we have right now. Starting December 12, 2018, Deadpool 2 will be released in cinemas once again, but this time, it’s PG-13. Entitled “Once Upon a Deadpool”, this film will essentially be a re-release of Deadpool 2. This version of the film will supposedly add 20 minutes of new content, according to Firefist actor Julian Dennison.

As we can already see from the released trailer, this holiday-themed movie will feature a cameo from The Princess Bride star Fred Savage, who will be portraying a similar role. In The Princess Bride, Savage played a young boy whose grandfather told him a bedtime story, but removed the bad parts. This is similar to what we’ve seen in the Once Upon a Deadpool trailer so far, and they’ve even gone as far as to recreate the original room from the 1987 classic. Here’s what Ryan Reynolds had to say about it…

Fox has been asking for a PG-13 basically since the start in 2006. I’ve said no since 2006. Now, this one time, I said ‘Yes’ on two conditions. First, a portion of the proceeds had to go to charity. Second, I wanted to kidnap Fred Savage. The second condition took some explaining…

As explained by Reynolds, each ticket bought for the movie will count as a $1 to the “F*ck Cancer” organization, whose name will be fittingly changed into “Fudge Cancer” to align it with the PG-13 theme. Reynolds and the rest of the cast are set to reprise their roles in the upcoming X-Force and Deadpool 3 movies in the near future. Reynolds is also set to star as the lead voice role in the upcoming Detective Pikachu movie, as the titular character.

Check out the official trailer down below and make sure to watch Once Upon a Deadpool starting December 12. The movie stars Ryan Reynolds, Josh Brolin, Zazie Beetz, Julian Dennison & more.
