The JBA won again today taking down the Loughborough Riders by a score of 123-117 led by Jordan Ray who scored 34, had 7 assists, and 5 boards as well. This was the JBA USA squads first game since Lamelo Ball, their star and marquee player decided to head back to the US to play high school basketball for Spire Academy, without him and Jerrell Springer who is currently injured they played a different looking lineup than usual.

They started the game with Jordan Ray, Liangelo Ball, Harrison Reiger, Dion Lyle, and Calvin Brown giving some of their bench players some deserved minutes in this one. Jordan Ray put on a show in the first half seemingly scoring basket after basket for JBA USA keeping them in a game that they were fighting from behind in.

At the end of the first half JBA USA had tied the score up at 59 a piece making the second half very interesting. JBA USA came out firing in the second half as Curtis Hollis started to warm up in his first game off the bench in this JBA USA tour.

In the end of this game JBA were leading in the final minutes showing off their skill from three point range and their pace were keys in being able to keep the lead and finish off the Loughborough Riders 123-117.

There were many things we learned from this game about the players on this JBA USA team including that Jordan Ray could be a star and that Gelo will be just fine without Melo.

Jordan Ray Could be a Star in The Making

Jordan Ray showed off tonight with his best performance of the JBA USA tour. Coming off a 25 point game against the London Lions he was expected to start and produce right away without Lamelo Ball and he did not disappoint. Ray was lights out as a shooter and had some saucy moves to the hoop as well scoring 34 points in the game. This could be the start of Jordan Ray becoming a star for the JBA USA team.

Liangelo Ball Will be Fine

Its often talked about how the Ball brothers play best when they are together, but now Liangelo will need to adjust to playing without his brother and playmaker Lamelo, tonight was a good start. Liangelo scored 27 points in the game showing off his three point range as well as ball handling ability. It was far from Liangelo’s best game, but without Lamelo he should be fine.

Calvin Brown is Earning his Minutes

Tonight Calvin Brown was very important for the JBA USA teams win, while sometimes he can be a little absent on the court his canstant defensive awareness and hustle makes him a valuable asset to his team. Finishing with a double double Brown is a name to watch for increased minutes as this tour goes on.

All in All a good victory for a short handed JBA USA squad against competition they should be expected to beat, They head to Turkey after this to attempt to continue their win streak to 10 games.
