THE NBA IS BACK BABY!

While 4 of the top teams of the league faced off on Tuesday, 22 teams faced off last night in an 11-game Schedule, headlined by a couple of MVP candidates in Giannis Antetokounmpo, James Harden and Anthony Davis. Here are some of the few takeaways from the games we saw.

MVP?

Giannis Antetokounmpo led his Bucks team to a 113-112 win over the Charlotte Hornets despite Kemba Walker’s impressive 41 point season debut. 41 POINTS. Giannis himself finished with 25 points, 18 rebounds and 8 assists on 43% from the field. Of course, he was helped by Khris Middleton, who scored 19 points to go along with 9 rebounds as well.

Anthony Davis and James Harden squared off last night, with the Pelicans surprisingly upsetting the Rockets in a 131-112 win. A couple of key Pelicans decided to ball out today, starting with AD himself who dropped a stat line of 32/16/8/3/3 on 62% shooting. Pelicans big men Mirotic and Randle contributed, as Mirotic scored 30 points to go with 10 rebounds and Randle scored 25 points and grabbed 8 rebounds off the bench. Lastly, Elfrid Payton recorded the season’s first triple double, getting a clean stat line of 10 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists. Harden and CP3 tried their bests, combining for 37 points, 14 rebounds and 16 assists, but it just wasn’t enough to contain AD and the Pelicans. It is worth noting that Gordon and Tucker scored 21 and 19, respectively as well.
